EGP's Director of Human Resource and Communications, Holly Fish, is Chair of the 4th Annual Arkansas Women's Hall of Fame. This year's inductee class of Arkansas trailblazers does not disappoint!

A NOTE FROM THE CHAIR

"Each time a girl opens a book and reads a womanless history, she learns she is worth less" said gender bias researcher and trailblazer Myra Pollack Sadker.

To me, this answers why we focus on preserving the stories of the women who have impacted history. If we don't know our own history, then how can a young woman know the power of possibility and opportunity?

The Arkansas Women's Hall of Fame was born from the mindset of preserving and telling the stories of all women from all walks of life who have made a significant difference in our state. We draw inspiration from those who have come before us.

In its third year, the Arkansas Women’s Hall of Fame has honored the most inspiring of women and this year’s class will not disappoint yet again. Arkansas women have proven to be quite a powerful force and continue to do so. This year we will induct the first African-American woman recognized as a symphonic composer with a piece played by a major Chicago Symphony Orchestra, a lifelong innovator and pioneer in science, an Academy Award-winning actress, a civil rights crusader; the impressive list goes on. If one of these stories creates a spark in a young female mind and leads her to achieve her hopes and dreams, we’ve done our job. We draw inspiration from those who have come before us.

We encourage you to view the Arkansas Women’s Hall of Fame video storytelling exhibit at the Statehouse Convention Center where we host this year’s ceremony August 30th. We are thankful for the many businesses and individuals who have partnered with us to make this hall of fame come to fruition now and for many years to come.

Thank you,

Holly Fish
